2016 Sprite Design Contest Rules

Full Contest Rules

Contest is open to residents who are at least 5 years old in all countries where permitted.

Entry Period

Contest begins at 12:00am MT on November 16, 2016 and ends at 11:59pm MT on December 15, 2016. Entries submitted before or after the Entry Period are not eligible.

Submission Content

Any sprite submitted must be an original concept. Submissions of character recreations or modifications will not be accepted. For example, you may not recreate a popular cartoon character and you may not use a sprite from the Scratch sprite library and edit it to look slightly different.

Sprites and projects must be appropriate for all ages and must adhere to the Scratch Community Guidelines.

How to Enter

Create an original sprite and use your creation in a Scratch project. Share your project publicly on Scratch and add it to the KCF Sprite Design Contest studio. If you are using the offline editor, you can email your project file to christina@kidscodeforce.com. We will upload your project to one of our generic student accounts and add it to the Studio for you.

Submissions will be judged on originality, creativity and design. There will be a minimum of one and maximum ten winners selected, based on number and quality of submissions.

Potential Winner Requirements

Except where prohibited, a potential winner may be required to complete and return a liability/publicity release within 5 days. If a potential winner is a minor, his/her parent or legal guardian will be required to sign the documents on his/her behalf. If a potential winner fails to return these documents on time, an alternate potential winner may be selected in his/her place.

Winners’ creations will be included in the Kids Code Force Sprite Download Library and will be featured on our social media accounts.
